Veterans

Australian Hearing provides a full range of hearing services to veterans who hold a Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) Gold Repatriation Health Card, or a DVA White Repatriation Health Card specifying hearing loss.

Our services for veterans include:

Some clients need extra help to achieve the best results with their hearing. These clients may have a severe-to-profound hearing loss, find communication difficult or distressing even with a hearing aid or have other disabilities as well, which aggravate their communication ability.

We help these clients choose the most appropriate hearing intervention option and work with them to develop strategies to manage their hearing loss.

What can you can expect as a client of Australian Hearing?

Australian Hearing has a full range of the most advanced and cosmetically appealing hearing devices (see Our Products) and we are committed to giving you the best possible hearing care.

We recommend that you make at least three appointments.

At your first appointment, one of Australian Hearing's clinicians assesses your hearing and explains the results to you. If you require a hearing device, we help you choose the most suitable and take an impression of your ear to ensure a good fit.

At your second appointment, your hearing device is fitted and individually programmed to match your hearing loss. You receive a maintenance pack to help you manage your device.

At your third appointment, we monitor your progress, fine tune your device if necessary and provide further advice and training.

Ongoing care

Our service includes ongoing support and guidance. A prompt hearing device repair service is also available, if required.

Annual fee paid by Veterans Affairs

Australian Hearing clients pay a small annual fee for batteries and maintenance. The Department of Veterans Affairs pays this cost for our veteran clients.

Home visits

A home visiting service is available for people who are unable to travel to a centre for hearing services. You need a doctor's certificate stating you are unable to travel because of a medical condition.
